Q: Where is the tournament held?
Q: Do you use walls?
A: Only to hold up the ceiling of the Vassar College Fieldhouse. Our indoor soccer fields use four touchlines.
Q: How long does the tournament last?
A: Each age group will take about 4 hours to play depending on the number of teams in the age group.
Q: How many teams are in an age group?
A: We try to get 6 teams in an age group, although we will play with 5 or even 7 teams.
Q: How long are the games?
A: With 5 teams, you will play 4 games, each about 19 minutes long. With 6 teams, you will play 5 games, each about 15 minutes long. With 7 teams, you will play 6 games, each about 13 minutes long.
Q: Are there playoffs?
A: With 5, 6 or 7 teams, we play a straight round robin format. No playoffs. If we have 8 teams in an age group, we do have to schedule playoffs. However, when we get to 10 or more teams, we split the age group into two independent groups of 5 teams, and award trophies in each separate session.
Q: How many teams receive trophies?
A: With 6 teams in an age group, we award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies. If there are only 5 teams in an age group, then we only award 1st and 2nd place trophies. There is a maximum roster size of 12, and only 12 trophies per team will be awarded.
Q: What time do the games start?
A: We try to start three sessions each day: 8am to noon, noon to 4pm, and 4pm to 8pm. These times change slightly depending on the number of teams in the different age groups.
Q: Will we get the 8am starting time?
A: We usually start the youngest age groups each day in the 8am to noon session. However, this could be swapped depending on the number of teams in an older age group.
