The program year runs from September through June. When a child is registered at the start of the program in September, he/she is registered for the full year -- fall and spring seasons. WUSC does re-open its registration again for the spring season, but that is subject to availability. Age groups that are already at max capacity in the fall will not accept new players in the spring. There is no fall-only registration option.
You are responsible for a ball(age appropriate size), shin guards and cleats. A uniform is provided (jersey, shorts, socks).
Coaches will begin to contact players by 2-4 weeks before the start of the season. Fall typically starts right after Labor Day and Spring session starts mid April. So you can expect to hear from your child's coach some time around late August and early April.
WUSC does not accept requests for a child to be placed on a particular team, with a particular coach or with a particular teammate. Players are assigned to teams in a manner that provides no advantage to any one team over another with the goal of creating teams that are as even and balanced as possible. We have a feature in our registration system that evenly distributes players to teams. The only exception to this are parent coaches. The child of the coach is always placed on their parent's team.
Players are assigned to an age group based on their date of birth. For 2026-2027, the age group assignments are as follows. We follow the US Soccer Age Groupings:

TRAVEL SOCCER
Please do not register for Travel Soccer unless you have been contacted by a coach that you have made the team. Coaches will provide you the information on how to purchase your uniform.
Travel practices will begin mid August. Travel coaches will provide further updates. Please contact Travel Director with any questions. If you have any questions or problems pertaining to registration, please contact the Registrar.

COACHES
All coaches in every program and at every level are required to register as a coach and to complete risk management (including a background check, concussion training, and SafeSport anti-bullying and abuse prevention training). A club administrator will be in contact with any coaches that need to complete these requirements.
